Roewe D7 DMH: o híbrido plug-in de autonomia recorde

The electrified models continue to set records for range, and the latest addition to the “Guinness World Records” is the Roewe D7 DMH.

The new plug-in hybrid sedan from the Chinese brand, owned by SAIC Motor, managed to cover 2208 km with a full tank and a fully charged battery, registering an average consumption of only 2.49 liters per 100 km, which constitutes a record.

The four-day journey between Lanzhou and Urumqi in China took place at temperatures ranging from -8º to 30 degrees Celsius, on roads where local manufacturers frequently test their new vehicles, according to SAIC’s statement.

The Roewe D7 DMH is equipped with a 1.5-liter, four-cylinder gasoline engine with 112 hp, which works in conjunction with an electric motor producing 204 hp and 330 Nm of torque.

The battery that powers the 21.4 kWh electric motor allows for a 100% electric range of 125 km, while the combined range is 1400 km, meaning this Roewe D7 DMH achieved over 800 km more than advertised.

SAIC, which has brands like MG in its portfolio, has not yet revealed whether the Roewe D7 DMH will arrive in the European market in the near future. However, considering the imposition of new customs duties in the European Union on 100% electric Chinese models, it would not be surprising if SAIC Motor decides to invest in this plug-in hybrid with “record” range for the European markets.
