This is not the first time that sports cars that were part of the garage of rock star Rod Stewart have appeared for sale at auction. Known for his passion for Lamborghini models, the musician was the owner of a Countach LP400, which is currently for sale on the auction website “Bring a Trailer“.
According to the information revealed, Rod Stewart acquired this Lamborghini sports car in 1977, during a series of concerts held in Australia.
The Countach then traveled with the musician to Los Angeles, where it underwent a series of modifications by preparer Albert Madikian Engineering. However, the 3.9-liter V12 engine with 370 hp remained unchanged.
Stewart eventually sold the model in 2002, with the Countach LP400 undergoing a new overhaul, including switching to left-hand drive. In 2013, Rod Stewart’s former Lamborghini was sold again, and the new owner carried out another refurbishment on the sports car, returning it to its original factory configuration and undoing all the alterations initially ordered by the musician.
Now the Countach LP400 is being auctioned and the current price is already at $500,000, which is about €460,000.
