Robert Kubica will continue his endurance career with AF Corse. The LMP2 world endurance champion this year is now looking to make the move to Hypercars, which he may achieve through the Italian team.
For now, it is not yet known exactly what role the Polish driver will have at AF Corse – something that will be revealed in the coming weeks. However, recently, Ferrari’s global director for endurance racing, Antonello Coletta, left open the possibility of entering a third 499P in the Hypercar category – potentially run by Richard Mille AF Corse. According to sportscar365.com, Kubica’s signing may aim to be one of the drivers in that cockpit.
Quoted by the aforementioned source, the former Formula 1 driver said: ‘I am happy that my path and AF Corse’s path will be the same next season. AF is one of the most successful teams in motorsport; I am sure we will do a great job together. Furthermore, I am back with an Italian team, which is not insignificant’.
