The British company RML Group, specializing in high-performance automotive engineering, is celebrating its 40th anniversary and to mark the occasion, it unveiled the P39 40th Special Edition, a supercar based on the 911 Turbo S from the 992.1 generation.
This more radical interpretation from RML features a LeMans-inspired carbon fiber body, wider wheel arches, a larger rear end, active aerodynamic components (DRS), and specific forged wheels measuring 20’’ at the front and 21’’ at the rear axle.
Additionally, this P39 SE is 170 mm longer than the model it is based on, 90 mm wider, has a wheelbase that is 15 mm longer, and features tracks that are 100 mm wider.
RML announced that the P39 40th Special Edition is capable of generating 923 kg of downforce at 285 km/h, while the base 911 Turbo S only manages 204 kg.
The British tuner has enhanced the 3.7-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder engine with upgraded turbochargers, new intercoolers and manifolds, and added an Inconel exhaust system along with a new engine control unit, which has increased the power from the 640 hp of the Turbo S to 900 hp and 1000 Nm, while the top speed of this supercar remains unchanged at 329 km/h.
All this power allows RML to announce that the P39 40SE is four seconds faster than the 911 GT3 RS at the Nurburgring Nordschleife, and that its radical interpretation of the 911 Turbo S will complete a lap in 6 minutes and 45 seconds.
