Rivian has just announced a new update for its R1T and R1S models, inspired by KITT, the unforgettable black Pontiac Trans Am that brought the series “Knight Rider” to life.
This update comes just in time for the Halloween celebrations and is available for a limited time, from October 18 to November 4. It features the ability for the Rivian R1T and R1S to replicate features from KITT and the DeLorean DMC12 from “Back to the Future.”
In this way, the red light on the hood of the Pontiac Trans Am from Knight Rider and the sound of the DeLorean from one of Robert Zemeckis’s most iconic films from 1985 are included.
In both cases, it is necessary to use the Rivian app to choose the “disguise” for the R1, whether it be light or sound indicators. Additionally, there are a series of controls and light indicators similar to those of the car from the series inside.
Rivian took this update even further by choosing actor David Hasselhoff, who played the role of Michael Knight in the 1980s series Knight Rider, to announce these updates, appearing behind the wheel of KITT.
