The stage is set for an electrifying 2025 FIA Formula 2 season as some of the most promising young drivers in motorsport prepare to battle it out in the ultimate proving ground before Formula 1. Among the latest announcements, Ferrari Academy’s Dino Beganovic leads the charge, stepping up to a full-time F2 drive with Hitech GP after a spectacular debut in the final rounds of 2024.
“Dino Beganovic: Ferrari’s Next Big Hope”
Dino Beganovic’s rise through the ranks has been meteoric. The Swedish prodigy, fresh off his stint with DAMS, where he secured a podium finish in Abu Dhabi, is now ready for his first full F2 campaign. Backed by the prestigious Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy, Beganovic has already proven he has what it takes, with a FRECA title in 2023 and a solid FIA Formula 3 season in 2024, where he finished sixth overall with two wins.
“I’m thrilled to join Hitech GP for my first full season in Formula 2 next year,” said Beganovic. “Stepping up full-time with one of the series’ top teams is an amazing opportunity. It’s a big, important step in my career, and I can’t wait to get started.”
“ART’s New Contender: Ritomo Miyata”
Meanwhile, Japanese driver Ritomo Miyata is preparing for his second F2 season, this time with ART Grand Prix. After a challenging rookie year with Rodin Motorsport, where he secured eight points finishes, Miyata is ready to capitalize on the opportunity provided by Toyota Gazoo Racing and ART.
“I am deeply grateful to Morizo-san (Akio Toyoda) and everyone at TGR for giving me another opportunity to race in Formula 2,” Miyata said. With a year of experience under his belt, the young talent will be looking to climb the ranks in 2025.
“Prema Racing Reloads with Minì and Montoya”
Prema Racing faces a tall order in replacing Andrea Kimi Antonelli and Oliver Bearman, both of whom have graduated to F1. However, the Italian powerhouse has assembled a formidable duo for 2025: F3 standout Gabriele Minì and Red Bull Junior Team’s Sebastian Montoya.
Montoya, son of F1 legend Juan Pablo Montoya, brings pedigree and promise. After an impressive F3 season with Campos Racing, where he achieved a second-place finish at Spa-Francorchamps, the Colombian is eager to make his mark.
“I’m very excited to join PREMA for the 2025 FIA Formula 2 season,” Montoya said. “It’s one of the best teams in feeder series racing. I’m delighted to join forces with them again and can’t wait to get started.”
“Campos Racing Doubles Down on Martí”
Campos Racing continues its faith in Josep Maria Martí, the Spanish driver who delivered a standout 2024 season with four podiums, including a Sprint Race win at Yas Marina. Martí’s journey with Campos dates back to his single-seater beginnings, and the continuity could prove crucial in his sophomore F2 campaign.
“I’m very excited to be returning to Campos Racing for my second season in Formula 2,” Martí said. “Adrian father and son have had faith in me since the start of my single-seater career, and now we are facing our fifth season together.”
“2025 F2: The Proving Ground for Future Stars”
As the 2025 F2 grid takes shape, the championship promises to be one of the most competitive yet. From Ferrari-backed Beganovic to Red Bull hopeful Montoya, and a host of returning talents like Martí and Miyata, the series remains the definitive stage for identifying F1’s next big stars.
With seasoned teams like Hitech, ART, Prema, and Campos all fielding strong lineups, the battle for supremacy in F2 will be nothing short of spectacular. As these young guns prepare to go wheel-to-wheel, the road to Formula 1 starts here—and it’s already looking like a season to remember.
