Rimac has announced that it has reached an agreement with BMW for the supply of batteries for the next generation electric vehicles of the German manufacturer, including models produced based on the Neue Klasse platform.
Rimac did not disclose details about the agreement with BMW, only announcing that it is the “largest and most ambitious project the company has undertaken to date.”
This newly announced agreement requires “the establishment of sophisticated automated battery production lines at the Rimac Campus near Zagreb, Croatia. A significant part of the Campus will be dedicated to this project, highlighting the company’s commitment to partnership with the BMW Group,” Rimac revealed in a statement.
“This agreement is a clear sign of Rimac Technology’s transition from a niche high-performance supplier to high-volume production capability. With the company’s growth, including the opening of the Rimac Campus, we are now ready for large-scale projects with leading brands in the automotive industry.”, said Mate Rimac, CEO of the Croatian company.
