Richard Childress cala Austin Dillon após explosão por táticas questionáveis no rádio.

The 2024 season has been tough for Austin Dillon and things have only gotten worse in Richmond. The driver of the No. 3 Chevrolet has not had luck in the NASCAR Cup. He has continued his disappointing performance from the previous season, where he missed the playoffs and finished outside the top-25 in points, while his teammate secured three wins. So far this season, Dillon has finished outside the top 20 in five out of six races, with his best result being a 16th place.

During the Toyota Owners 400 in Richmond, Dillon’s race went from bad to worse. He dropped from 22nd position to 32nd position. A pit stop strategy backfired, causing him to fall in the standings. Frustrated, Dillon expressed his dissatisfaction to his team using strong words over the team radio.

Richard Childress, the team owner and Dillon’s grandfather, is known for his radio conversations. He had to step in to calm down his grandson and remind him that shouting over the team radio would not solve anything.

In the end, Childress, as the team owner, needs to prioritize the team’s success over his personal feelings for his grandson. Dillon has not delivered the results the team deserves, and there are two drivers in the Xfinity Series grid who could be potential replacements.

One option is [Driver’s Name], who has excelled in the Xfinity Series over the past two seasons. He has proven to be a race winner and has shown loyalty by staying with RCR Xfinity, even though he had the opportunity to join another team in the Cup.

Another option is [Driver’s Name], a young sensation who debuted for the team in the 2024 season. He has already shown his potential with several poles and it won’t be long before he secures his first win in the Xfinity. RCR may need to offer Love a place in the Cup in the next two seasons, as he may consider other options.

In conclusion, Austin Dillon’s struggles continue in the 2024 NASCAR Cup season. His poor performance in Richmond highlighted the need for potential replacements within the team.
