Ricciardo vê resultado significativo da Sprint da F1 em Miami apesar de sair cedo do Q1.

Daniel Ricciardo, Australian driver for the RB team, celebrated his performance in the Sprint race of the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Miami. Despite being eliminated in Q1, Ricciardo believes his fourth place finish was a strong statement. He faced difficulties at the beginning of the season, but recovered during the race this weekend. Starting in fourth place on the grid, Ricciardo couldn’t maintain his position against Red Bull’s Sergio Perez, but managed to defend against Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz and earned five points. Amid rumors of being replaced, Ricciardo was thrilled to prove his critics wrong and show his fighting spirit. He described his performance as a statement and expressed satisfaction in being able to silence those who doubted him. Ricciardo acknowledged that the first races were challenging, but saw an opportunity this weekend and seized it. He felt everything was going well and it was the perfect moment to make an impact and create expectation.

Ricciardo remained optimistic despite being eliminated in the early stage of qualifying for the grand prix, with his drop on the grid in China pushing him back.

“Here we are, four hours later, starting last tomorrow! Honestly, the weekend was still positive, this afternoon we will investigate,” he continued.

“This will determine the rest of our weekend, but I don’t believe it reflects our overall performance, it was still very encouraging.

“I would love to be out there in Q3 with Yuki, but we will try to understand this for tomorrow.”

Ricciardo suggested that he couldn’t avoid his premature exit, mentioning experiencing a similar situation to Lando Norris at the beginning of the weekend, with tire grip.

“I’m disappointed,” he admitted. “I feel like it was one of those situations where I don’t think we could have done anything, because I didn’t have grip at the beginning of the lap.

I genuinely felt what Lando felt yesterday in Q3. I don’t know what he said afterwards, but I saw his lap and he was almost a second slower with the soft tire.

“You could see him sliding from the exit of Turn 1 and it was chaotic, and that’s honestly how I felt.

“It didn’t feel like that second set of tires gave me what it should with a new soft tire, so I felt like we were a bit limited.

“Obviously, we don’t have an answer for this, I don’t know if Lando had an answer yesterday, but I felt his frustration.

“It’s frustrating, but it’s not like we made changes to the car and did something different and then regretted it. The first set was good.

There’s always some time to find and I felt it was definitely quite easy to find in that second set, even with a new set of tires and less fuel on the track.

The lap time is there in the car, I just don’t know exactly what happened with that second set of tires.

“It’s kind of frustrating to say this because there are no facts behind it, but you feel when it doesn’t give you what you want, so that’s where the frustration lies.”
