Revving Up for the Season: Alpine A525 Hits the Track for First Time Ahead of 2025 F1 Pre-Season Testing

Alpine’s 2025 Formula 1 contender, the A525, has made its inaugural appearance on the race track, just ahead of the pre-season testing. The Anglo-French team unveiled their blue and pink adorned vehicle at Bahrain International Circuit on Monday, a week after disclosing the vibrant colour scheme at London’s O2 Arena.

The team’s drivers, Jack Doohan and Pierre Gasly, shared the responsibility of completing the initial 200km run, which was part of Alpine’s two approved filming days. This first taste of the A525 provided not only a shakedown of the new vehicle but also generated publicity for the new slate of partners including Eni, MSC, OAKBERRY, Mercado Libre, Arctic Wolf, Castore and MODO Casino, alongside their title partner BWT.

The A525 will again roar into action on Wednesday morning, marking the commencement of the official F1 pre-season testing in Bahrain. Doohan, the Australian rookie, is set to be the first to leave the pit.

Reflecting on the first outing with the A525, Doohan expressed his excitement and gratitude to the team at Enstone and Viry-Châtillon for their dedication towards the 2025 season preparations. He also conveyed his anticipation for the upcoming pre-season testing, where the team will have three busy days to fine-tune the A525.

Gasly, who had a strong finish in the 2024 season, is looking forward to carrying forward his momentum with the A525. He expressed his thrill at driving the new vehicle and praised the team’s effort in preparing for the new season. Although the shakedown provided limited driving, Gasly is keen to fully explore the A525’s potential during official pre-season testing later in the week.

The upcoming 2025 season also marks the first full year for Team Principal Oliver Oakes at the helm of Alpine. He steered a revival at Alpine after joining in August and is optimistic that the A525 will propel the team beyond their sixth-place finish in the 2024 Constructors’ Championship.

Oakes expressed his pride as the new car hit the track, praising everyone at Enstone and Viry-Châtillon for their hard work on the A525. Despite challenging weather conditions, the team successfully completed a full day’s run in Bahrain with 200km evenly split between Pierre and Jack. Oakes highlighted the importance of giving both drivers a fair chance to understand the new car before the intensive three days of testing.

With the A525’s debut on track and pre-season testing on the horizon, the 2025 Formula 1 season promises to be an exciting one for Alpine and its fans. The team is eager to build on their success and continue their progression in the sport.
