Revolutionizing Racing: IHRA’s Epic Milan Dragway Transformation Unleashes Unprecedented Thrills

The International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) has struck a deal that is set to shake the drag racing world to its core! IHRA has just acquired Milan Dragway, a historic quarter-mile track located in Michigan, and the racing community is abuzz with excitement.

Situated just 40 miles west of Detroit, Milan Dragway has been a staple in the drag racing scene since its opening in 1964. Over the years, the track has seen legendary racers and unforgettable moments, cementing its status as a must-visit destination for drag racing enthusiasts.

Under the new ownership of IHRA, Milan Dragway is undergoing a massive transformation. Kurt Johnson’s TVC, renowned for its top-notch track preparation, is already hard at work revamping the track surface and pit areas. These upgrades are not just cosmetic; they are aimed at elevating Milan Dragway to become one of the premier drag strips in the world.

Johnny Quick, a household name in the racing community and a 28-year veteran at Milan Dragway, has been appointed as the track manager. Quick is confident in IHRA’s vision for the track, stating, “Darryl Cuttell is making major investments in the track to make it one of the premier race tracks in the world.”

The improvements being made at Milan Dragway are not just for show. With a focus on enhancing the experience for both racers and fans, plans are in place to modernize grandstands, restrooms, concessions, and other key areas of the facility, aiming to create a world-class racing destination.

Milan Dragway boasts a rich history, with a long list of iconic winners gracing its track. From drag racing legends like “Big Daddy” Don Garlits and Connie Kalitta to modern-day champions like Clay Millican and Kenny Bernstein, the track has seen some of the sport’s brightest stars cross the finish line.

In recent years, Milan Dragway has also become a hub for adrenaline-pumping events like No Prep and Heads-Up races, attracting thrill-seekers from far and wide. Additionally, the track serves as a versatile venue, hosting everything from car shows to rock concerts, making it a hotspot for automotive enthusiasts of all kinds.

As Milan Dragway undergoes this monumental transformation, racing fans can expect nothing short of an exhilarating experience at the track. Stay tuned to the track’s social media channels for the latest updates and schedule changes, as IHRA and Milan Dragway gear up for an electrifying new chapter in drag racing history.
