Revolutionizing the Racing World: F1’s Female Drivers Take Center Stage on Netflix

Prepare to witness the fierce and exhilarating world of Formula 1 like never before as Netflix gears up to release ‘F1: The Academy’ on May 28, 2025. This groundbreaking docuseries will shine a spotlight on the all-female driver series, F1 Academy, capturing the gripping drama, unwavering ambition, and the untold stories of the rising stars on the grid.

Produced by the esteemed Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine, ‘F1: The Academy’ will delve into the heart-pounding 2024 F1 Academy season, unfolding over seven episodes. Viewers can expect an intimate portrayal of the intense competition and the emotional rollercoaster that the female drivers experience both on and off the track.

At the helm of this revolutionary series is Susie Wolff, the managing director of F1 Academy and the executive producer of the show. Wolff expressed her excitement about the global launch of the docuseries on Netflix, emphasizing the significance of this platform in amplifying the visibility of women in sports and catering to a diverse audience of current and future fans.

The series aims to provide viewers with the same adrenaline-fueled excitement and personal narratives that made ‘Drive to Survive’ a worldwide sensation. ‘F1: The Academy’ promises to showcase the sheer determination and resilience required to shatter barriers in one of the most competitive and male-dominated sports in the world.

From shadowing Ferrari academy driver Maya Weug in Maranello to highlighting the journey of Red Bull-backed Chloe Chambers, the docuseries captures the essence of a burgeoning movement that is gaining momentum across the racing world. Social media teasers from drivers like Bianca Bustamante have only heightened the anticipation surrounding the show’s premiere.

As the championship expands its grid to 18 cars in 2025, with all ten F1 teams endorsing a driver, the support from brands like TAG Heuer and Charlotte Tilbury underscores the widespread appeal of ‘F1: The Academy.’ With the backing of Hello Sunshine, the series is poised to deliver a perfect blend of style and substance.

Chambers expressed her optimism about the future, anticipating that the upcoming years would witness even greater growth for both the drivers and the series, fueled by increased media attention and collaborations like the Netflix documentary.

Set to debut on May 28, ‘F1: The Academy’ is primed to catapult the visibility of women in motorsport to new heights and ignite a global fascination with the future luminaries of Formula 1.

Get ready to witness the revolution unfold as ‘F1: The Academy’ races onto screens worldwide, promising an unparalleled glimpse into the extraordinary world of female drivers in Formula 1.
