Esteban Ocon, driver of the Alpine F1 A524 team, participated in the Bahrain Grand Prix, the first race of the 2024 Formula 1 World Championship.
In the season opener in Bahrain, Max Verstappen, the current Formula 1 world champion, secured the first position on the grid.
Verstappen, driving for Red Bull, surpassed Charles Leclerc from Ferrari by a margin of 0.228 seconds, while George Russell from Mercedes finished 0.306 seconds behind.
Carlos Sainz, Leclerc’s teammate at Ferrari, finished in fourth place, followed by Sergio Perez from Red Bull in fifth place during Friday’s qualifying session.
Fernando Alonso from Aston Martin secured the sixth position, with Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri from McLaren securing the seventh and eighth positions, respectively.
Lewis Hamilton from Mercedes and Nico Hulkenberg from Haas completed the top ten positions.
Unfortunately, Alpine had a disappointing qualifying session, with both drivers finishing in the last two positions on the starting grid and being eliminated in the first session.
