At the 2024 Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix, Carlos Sainz achieved a remarkable result by securing a one-two finish for Ferrari, with his teammate Charles Leclerc coming in second. Sainz crossed the finish line with a 2.3-second advantage over Leclerc. McLaren also had a great performance, with Lando Norris finishing in third place (+5.904s) and local favorite Oscar Piastri in fourth place (+35.770s).
Sergio Perez from Red Bull had a relatively quiet race, finishing in fifth place, almost a minute behind the race leader. Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll from Aston Martin had a decent performance, earning valuable points for their team by finishing sixth and seventh, respectively.
Yuki Tsunoda’s eighth place was crucial for the RB team, while Haas had a double points finish, with their drivers finishing ninth and tenth. Nico Hulkenberg outperformed his teammate Kevin Magnussen in this race.
Unfortunately, Max Verstappen had to retire from the race due to a rear brake failure in the early laps. Lewis Hamilton also had to retire due to technical issues, and George Russell was involved in an accident during the race.
