Peugeot has decided to renovate the E-Rifter and has taken the opportunity to introduce the new brand design, maintaining the muscular style and equipping the model with the latest connected technologies, while increasing the autonomy of the 100% electric model.
Aesthetically, the renovated model features a new, more dynamic front, whose main distinctive element is the new radiator grille with the new Pugeot emblem in the center surrounded by the brand’s three-claw signature lighting.
In addition, the model’s color palette now includes two new body colors: Sirkka Green and Kiama Blue. Also noteworthy are the wide wheel arches, imposing side protections, roof bars, and high ground clearance, which contribute to the adventurous look of this model.
Inside, the E-Rifter debuts a 10-inch color instrument panel, which allows for optimized and customizable viewing of essential information, including navigation system information and energy flow and recharge information, along with a new 10-inch HD central touch screen, which allows for control of the audio system and connected navigation.
In addition, the driver now has a new compact, leather-covered and heated steering wheel with integrated control buttons, and the seats are upholstered in a new light gray fabric, and there is a generous glazed surface, reinforced by the iconic Zenith roof that contributes to the brightness of the cabin.
The renovated E-Rifter has an extensive list of driving aids, which have been reinforced in this new model with adaptive cruise control, as well as improved parking assistance with 12 sensors distributed between the front and rear, as well as a VisioPark 180° system now equipped with a high-definition reverse camera.
Available in 2 versions, with 5 and 7 seats in each of the two lengths: Standard (4.40 m) and Long (4.75 m). The latter adds length in terms of wheelbase and projections, for even greater habitability.
In terms of storage, the trunk offers a cargo space that varies between 775 liters under the trunk shelf for the 5-seat version in the Standard length, and 4,000 liters under the roof with all seats folded in the Long E-Rifter. The storage space can reach 186 liters depending on the version.
The E-Rifter features a drivetrain system composed of an electric motor with 136 hp of power and 260 Nm of maximum torque, which is powered by a 50 kWh lithium-ion battery, allowing for a range of up to 320 km, 40 km more than the previous version. Its maximum speed is limited to 135 km/h, with acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h achieved in 11.2 seconds.
The battery, located under the floor, accepts charging up to 100 kW in DC sockets, replenishing a charge from 0 to 80% in just 30 minutes. It comes standard with a single-phase onboard charger of 7.4 kW, and an optional three-phase charger of 11 kW.
In a 7.4 kW ‘wallbox’, a full charge takes about seven and a half hours with the standard integrated charger or about 5 hours with the optional three-phase charger of 11 kW. In a reinforced domestic socket at 16A, the wait time reaches 15 hours.
The E-Rifter continues to offer three driving modes: Eco to maximize range, Power for maximum performance at full charge, and Normal. To optimize range, the renewed Peugeot model features a regenerative braking system that can be activated according to three levels of regeneration, using the paddles located behind the steering wheel, as well as a heat pump (depending on the country).
Peugeot has already announced that the updated E-Rifter is expected to arrive in the national market in the second quarter of 2024, without revealing the prices yet.
