Renovado MG4 entra em produção na China

SAIC announced that it has begun production of the renewed MG4 electric vehicle at the factory in Nanjing, and that the model is set to debut next August.

It is already known that the renewed MG4 features a new design, revised dimensions, and updated technology. According to data released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of China, the renewed MG4 is equipped with a rear electric motor producing 160 hp, maintaining the MacPherson front suspension system and the independent five-link rear suspension used in the previous model.

In terms of dimensions, the renewed MG4 is larger than its predecessor, measuring 4.39 meters in length, 1.84 m in width, 1.55 m in height, and with a wheelbase of 2.75 m; that is, the new generation of the MG4 is 108 mm longer and has an additional 45 mm in wheelbase.

Visually, one of the biggest novelties is the illuminated front emblem, which is joined by a front section inspired by the brand’s electric roadster, the MG Cyberster, incorporating a sculpted front panel and separate headlights.

In terms of weight, the new generation of the MG4 comes in at 1,485 kg, representing a significant reduction compared to the 1,641 kg of the current generation.
