Renovado BMW M2 traz mais potência e caixa manual

BMW has revealed the revamped M2, which comes with more power and a manual gearbox, all to enhance the driving experience.

The smallest coupe in the M range comes with an additional 20 hp of power compared to its predecessor, meaning 473 hp at 6250 rpm, and the same torque of 550 Nm as the predecessor, using the six-speed manual gearbox, which transmits power to the rear axle. There is also a version equipped with an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

The German brand also announced that the M2 with the manual gearbox accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds, which is a tenth of a second faster than the previous model, while the variant with the eight-speed automatic gearbox completes the distance in 4 seconds. The maximum speed is limited to 250 km/h, or 285 km/h in the case of the version equipped with the optional M Driver’s Package.

In order for drivers to further explore the performance characteristics of the engine, BMW engineers have enhanced the mapping and throttle response in all selectable driving modes through the M Setup menu. As a result, the new BMW M2 offers even faster and more responsive acceleration to the driver’s requests.

The updates also extend to the design, with gray tones and robust proportions that enhance the model’s performance. As a result, the new BMW M2 features the distinctive BMW grille, which includes a lower air intake divided into three sections that optimize cooling and contribute to even more effective road performance.

Highlight also for the M exhaust system with four tailpipes, with standard black finish, as well as 19-inch wheels at the front and 20-inch wheels at the rear. Externally, it is possible to choose between three solid colors, five metallic colors, and six BMW Individual tones for the body.

Inside, the driving experience has also been improved, thanks to the introduction of the new BMW Operating System 8.5. The M-specific content on the BMW Curved Display and the BMW Head-Up Display (optional) enhances the sporty character of the cockpit, which is now accompanied by a 12.3-inch instrument panel and an infotainment system that uses a 14.9-inch screen.

Also noteworthy is the flat-bottomed steering wheel, central marker at 12 o’clock, differentiated spokes, leather finish, but there is an option in Alcantara. The optional M sports seats are now also available in a red and black bicolor version.

The standard equipment of the new BMW M2 also includes automatic three-zone climate control, ambient lighting, a HiFi speaker system, a wireless charging pad, and the BMW Live Cockpit Plus with BMW Maps navigation system. The connectivity, also included as standard, allows for the use of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

As for the series semi-automatic driving and parking assistance systems, they include the frontal collision warning, Cruise Control with braking function, Speed Limit Info function with no overtaking indicator, Lane Departure Warning, and Parking Distance Control with sensors in the front and rear of the vehicle. Optional features available include the Driving Assistant, Active Cruise Control with Stop&Go function, and Parking Assistant with Reversing Assistant.
