Audi has renewed the A3 range, which now includes an expanded offer that includes the Sportback and Limousine body styles.
With a more distinctive and sporty look and a more comfortable and digitized interior, the range of the renewed Audi A3 comes with enhanced standard equipment, more technology, and a starting price of €33,689.
All versions feature a renewed front section, with a frameless hexagonal Singleframe grille that is flatter and wider, along with generous and angular side air inlets that enhance the sporty character of the compact models.
Inspired by the RS versions, the new design elements become even more expressive when combined with the S line exterior. The new metallic paint colors Verde District and Vermelho Progressive are new, as well as the optional matte Daytona Grey.
The front spoiler connects the two air inlets and makes the renewed Audi A3 appear lower. In the rear section, there is a new bumper and diffuser inspired by the RS models.
There are plenty of new features in the interior, from the design of the gear lever and air vents to the decorative fabric applications and the new interior lighting.
The standard equipment has been significantly expanded. In addition to the three-spoke leather multifunction steering wheel, the standard equipment also includes air conditioning, the ambient lighting package, front central armrest, 10.1” infotainment screen, along with the Audi virtual cockpit and an inductive smartphone charger. In addition to the two USB-C charging ports in the front center console, there are also two additional ports in the rear.
The interior trims of the refreshed Audi A3 now feature two decorative options in fabric made of 100% recycled polyester and Dinamica microfiber which serves as the seat covering: it has the look and feel of suede, but is partially made with recycled polyester.
For the first time in the A3 range, it is now possible to select and switch between four different digital daytime running light signatures via the MMI, when combined with the optional LED Matrix headlights.
Optional equipment includes MMI navigation plus and access to the app store. By incorporating the store, users can directly and intuitively access apps through the MMI touch screen. The apps are installed in the infotainment system without the need to use the smartphone. Users can also interact with their apps via voice command. Amazon Alexa can be used to stream music and also operate smart home devices.
When it comes to engines, the 30 TFSI version is only available in the Sportback body style, and features the 1.5 turbo gasoline engine with 116 hp and 220 Nm of torque with mild hybrid technology, when combined with the S tronic dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
The Diesel offer is handled by the 30 TDI (116 hp) and 35 TDI (150 hp) versions, with the Limousine body style only featuring the more powerful variant. Unlike the previous generation, only the S tronic automatic gearbox can be paired with Diesel engines for the 35 TDI versions. The remaining gasoline and Diesel versions of the A3 Sportback and A3 Limousine will arrive later.
With the 2.0 TFSI engine producing 333 hp, and a maximum torque of 420 Nm and quattro all-wheel drive system, the sportier S3 variant is available in both body styles. Compared to the previous generation model, the new S3 comes with an additional 23 hp and 20 Nm, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds and reach a limited top speed of 250 km/h.
