The Renault Group announced on Friday the completion of the acquisition of a minority stake in Wandercraft, a French company specialized in the development of robotic exoskeletons assisted by artificial intelligence.
Based on extensive experience in powerful and reliable exoskeletons, Wandercraft has developed an advanced platform for various applications.
This investment from the Renault Group, the amount of which was not disclosed, is accompanied by a strategic partnership agreement focused on the development of a new generation of robots, based on Wandercraft’s innovative technology. These robots, called “Calvin,” aim to initially optimize the production operations of the Renault Group.
“This partnership with Wandercraft looks to the future and will enable us to accelerate automation and develop tailor-made robots for our specific applications in the automotive industry, allowing us to dedicate our equipment to higher value-added activities and freeing operators from arduous and poorly ergonomic tasks. This will increase productivity, quickly reducing production time and costs,” said Thierry Charvet, Director of Industry and Quality at the Renault Group.
