Renault has decided to gather its exceptional collection of historical vehicles, works of art, and archival documents in a new exhibition space located in Flins, in the Paris region starting in 2027.
The ambitious new project from the French brand will allow the public to explore this unique heritage through visits and thematic exhibitions, highlighting the 125 years of the brand’s history and emphasizing the company’s impact on automotive innovation and collective memory.
The project, designed by architect Jacob Celnikier, promises a building that will serve as a bridge between the city and the Renault universe. With a structure of six interconnected volumes, the fragmented facade will reveal glimpses of the collection inside. The space will include an event hall of 2,800 m², work, consultation, and storage areas, an “automobile wall” with hundreds of vehicles on pallets visible from the outside, and a vehicle restoration workshop.
In addition, there will also be an artist residence, a 3,200 m² space dedicated to urban art. Artists such as Jean Faucheur and Gérard Zlotykamien are already participating in this project. Some works will be included in the exhibitions of the new heritage space.
“Our industrial and cultural heritage, with 125 years of history, remains incredibly relevant. It inspires our teams daily to envision the future of mobility and belongs a little to everyone, as Renault is also a piece of universal popular culture. Therefore, we wanted to share it widely, through a vibrant, open, and accessible experience for all. A place to visit with family, where one can stroll among cars, where a history that is in constant motion is revived: a legacy that fills us with pride and that we want to keep alive”, said Fabrice Cambolive, CEO of Renault.
