Red Rage: Patience is a valuable quality.

Raiva Vermelha: Paciência é uma qualidade valiosa.

Will we witness the cause of this hidden hope unfold in Jeddah this coming weekend?

“Red Bull’s advantage was evident in Bahrain. However, it was a pleasant surprise to keep up with their pace,” admits Carlos Sainz, who finished third. “It’s intriguing how they manage to extend the life of the C3 tire compared to others. They also tend to suffer less overheating. Maybe that’s why their car is not as competitive in qualifying, but stands out in the race on a track like Bahrain.

“The most important thing is that we have made significant progress. This is a relief, because the last time I could aggressively chase victory was in Austria, about 13 to 14 races ago. I like to be on the offensive, but it was simply impossible with last year’s car. So, I really wished we had a car capable of competing and attacking this year, and that’s exactly what we have! We showed exceptional race pace last week, and it was fantastic to secure third place.”

Charles Leclerc faced more challenges in Bahrain due to brake balance issues, but still managed to secure fourth place. “My problem didn’t improve throughout the race, but it allowed me to maintain consistency,” explained Leclerc after skillfully guiding his SF-24 to the finish line. “Considering all the circumstances, finishing fourth was a commendable effort. However, I am disappointed because I genuinely believe that second place was within our reach last weekend.”

“I don’t believe there have been many lessons learned from my race, but I was pleasantly surprised that we were able to achieve relatively good lap times, despite the car being completely out of sync. Overall, my pace exceeded my expectations given the circumstances, so that is a positive result for us,” added the Monegasque driver.

Fred Vasseur expressed his frustration with the problems encountered in Bahrain. “Bahrain was not a flawless experience for us. We faced numerous minor issues during qualifying and the race,” complained the team principal. The positive aspect is that we were able to reduce 50% of the gap to Red Bull in the race compared to last year. Additionally, Charles set the fastest lap in Q2, indicating our potential for pole position. However, it is evident that this is insufficient and once again, we faced many complications.

“That being said, we were able to compete with them in the final part of the race. Therefore, I believe we have a great opportunity and a much stronger foundation to build on this year. It is easier for the drivers to connect with the car and improve their performance. This was much more challenging last year. However, the top ten positions are now much closer in Jeddah. Additionally, the circuit layout and asphalt are significantly different, so Saturday will present a completely different narrative.

“I am pleased with the points we earned in Bahrain, so let’s stay focused this weekend and start again.”

So, what can we infer from all this? Not much, except that we now have a significantly better starting point with the SF-24. It is evident that Ferrari is working tirelessly to reduce the gap, while keeping a close eye on their competitors. Here’s a trouble-free Saudi Arabian Grand Prix for Ferrari…
