The Formula 1 world is shaken as Zak Brown, the CEO of McLaren, reveals his lack of surprise at Christian Horner’s departure from Red Bull. Despite the timing catching him off guard, Brown highlighted the persistent drama within the Red Bull team that may have intensified in recent times.

After over two decades at the helm, Horner’s exit came just days after the British Grand Prix, amidst internal turbulence including misconduct investigations, public confrontations, staff departures, and on-track struggles. Brown acknowledged Horner’s past successes but expressed uncertainty about his future in the sport, hoping he would remain in motorsport.

In a candid interview with TSN, Brown commented on the situation, stating, “Perhaps the timing was surprising, but not the outcome. There has been a lot of drama over the past two years, and it doesn’t seem like it’s calming down. It might be escalating, so his mid-season departure doesn’t surprise me. We are focused on our championship. They still have Max knocking on the door, so we have to pay attention to that. But yes, they had tremendous success [with Horner].”

Speculating on Horner’s next move, Brown speculated, “Given his age and history in motorsport, I would be surprised if he doesn’t show up somewhere in motorsport. But I don’t know his other interests, whether he wants to manage a football team or something. So, let’s wait and see.”

As the Formula 1 community absorbs this bombshell, all eyes are on the future of both Red Bull and Christian Horner. Stay tuned for more updates on this unfolding saga in the world of motorsport.
