Red Bull’s Tsunoda to Undergo Intense Training After Saudi GP for Miami Race

Red Bull Revs Up Yuki Tsunoda’s Training Regimen for Miami Grand Prix!

In a bold move to accelerate Yuki Tsunoda’s adaptation to Red Bull’s Formula 1 cars, the team has devised an intensive testing program to propel the young driver’s progress. Following the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, Tsunoda will dive headfirst into a week packed with training activities to enhance his familiarity with the intricacies of the RB21.

Amidst the grueling triple headers in Japan, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia, Tsunoda has been thrust into the fast-paced world of Formula 1 with little time to catch his breath. Despite the challenges, Red Bull is impressed with his advancements and the valuable technical insights he provides to tackle the hurdles faced by the RB21.

The Red Bull team is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring Tsunoda’s swift development by organizing a rigorous schedule post the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. This includes a session in Red Bull’s simulator followed by a day of testing in the RB19 car at Silverstone. The RB19, known for its exceptional performance in winning nearly every race during its season, will offer Tsunoda a glimpse into the handling of a high-performing ground effect car.

By opting to run Tsunoda at Silverstone, Red Bull demonstrates its commitment to supporting the young driver as he acclimates to his new environment. While the RB19 may not be identical to the current RB21, the testing day will provide Tsunoda and the team with opportunities to experiment with setups and explore different technical strategies collaboratively.

Tsunoda himself acknowledges the steep learning curve ahead, expressing his eagerness to comprehend the nuances of the car and maximize its potential. Despite having participated in three races, he admits there is still much to grasp in terms of the car’s performance and operation.

Red Bull’s decision to extend Tsunoda’s training regimen echoes a similar approach taken with Liam Lawson, Tsunoda’s predecessor, who underwent a winter wake-up test in the RB19 at Jerez before transitioning to Red Bull’s 2025 challenger.

With a maximum allowance of 20 days for Testing of Previous Cars each year, teams are strategically utilizing this opportunity to hone the skills and familiarity of their drivers with different car models. The upcoming sessions will not only benefit Tsunoda’s development but also showcase Red Bull’s unwavering commitment to nurturing young talent within the realm of Formula 1.
