Red Bull’s Tsunoda Falls Short: Expert Claims Driver Not Yet Good Enough

Yuki Tsunoda Under Fire: Is He Really Up to Red Bull Standards?

Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda is facing harsh criticism after his recent debut with Red Bull in F1. Despite high hopes, Tsunoda’s performance at Suzuka has raised doubts about whether he is truly ready for a seat at the top tier of racing.

Former racer turned pundit, Tom Coronel, did not hold back in his assessment of Tsunoda’s capabilities, stating that the young driver is “not yet good enough” for the Red Bull RB21. Coronel’s comments come as the second Red Bull car continues to struggle, with a string of point-less finishes throughout the 2025 season.

Tsunoda was brought in to replace Liam Lawson after just two rounds, with Red Bull hoping for a turnaround in their fortunes. However, Tsunoda’s P15 finish at the Japanese Grand Prix was underwhelming, especially considering the strong qualifying performance that saw him make it to Q2.

Despite his disappointing debut, Tsunoda remains optimistic about future races, acknowledging the learning experience and vowing to come back stronger. With the Bahrain Grand Prix up next, all eyes will be on Tsunoda to see if he can prove his critics wrong and deliver the results expected of a Red Bull driver.
