Red Bull Racing in Turmoil: Sky F1 Expert Slams Team’s ‘Disastrous’ Driver Choices

In a shocking turn of events, Sky Sports F1 pundit Martin Brundle has unleashed scathing criticism on Red Bull Racing for what he deems a series of catastrophic blunders in their driver decisions. The once-mighty internal structure of the team has been on a downward spiral over the past year, marked by the departures of key figures such as Adrian Newey, Jonathan Wheatley, Will Courtenay, Rob Marshall, and most recently, Christian Horner.

The team’s performance has taken a nosedive since their dominant 2023 season, culminating in a devastating loss of the constructors’ championship title last year, largely attributed to the lackluster performance of their second driver, Sergio Perez. Following Perez’s dismal showing, Red Bull made the bold move to replace him with Liam Lawson, only to swiftly replace Lawson with Yuki Tsunoda after just two races, as the latter struggled to find his footing in the high-pressure environment at Red Bull.

Tsunoda’s ongoing struggle to match his teammate’s pace has left Max Verstappen carrying the weight of the team on his shoulders, responsible for an astounding 173 out of the team’s 180 points after the recent sprint race at Spa.

Martin Brundle did not mince his words when he called out Red Bull’s flawed driver choices, pointing out the glaring mistake of transforming the team into a one-driver show. In a recent interview on Sky Sports, Brundle highlighted the critical error Red Bull made by neglecting to build a strong driver lineup to support their star driver, Max Verstappen.

As rumors swirl around Verstappen’s future, with speculations of a move to Mercedes dissipating in recent weeks, it seems the Dutch sensation will likely stay put at Red Bull for at least one more season, leading the team into the new era of regulations in 2026.

The Formula 1 world is abuzz with anticipation and speculation as Red Bull Racing grapples with internal turmoil and mounting pressure to rectify their ‘disastrous’ driver decisions. Will the team be able to recover from this setback and regain their former glory, or are they destined to be overshadowed by their competitors in the seasons to come?

Stay tuned for more updates on this gripping saga as it unfolds in the high-octane world of Formula 1 racing.
