Revolution in Red Bull Racing: Horner Out, New Era Begins!

In a shocking turn of events, Red Bull Racing has bid farewell to Christian Horner, the long-standing CEO and team principal who has been at the helm of the team for two decades. The upcoming Belgian Grand Prix in 2025 will mark the first race weekend without Horner calling the shots, as he has been relieved of his duties. Stepping into his shoes is Laurent Mekies, who has been promoted from within the Racing Bulls.

Rumors have been swirling about potential discontent within the Milton Keynes factory, with loyal Horner supporters reportedly considering leaving their positions. However, Red Bull consultant Helmut Marko has swiftly dismissed these speculations, emphasizing that the transition has been smooth. Marko compared the situation to football, stating, “Formula 1 has evolved like football. If it’s not working, the coach has to go.”

Marko highlighted a significant shift in power dynamics with Mekies taking over, indicating that the new team principal will focus more on race-related responsibilities and less on other areas. He mentioned changes already being implemented, such as adjustments to the simulator preparation, signaling a new era for Red Bull Racing under Mekies’ leadership.

As Red Bull prepares to navigate this major change, all eyes will be on Mekies and the team as they gear up for a future without Horner at the forefront. Stay tuned for more updates as the Red Bull Racing saga continues to unfold in the high-octane world of Formula 1.
