Max Verstappen Blasts Red Bull’s Excuses for F1 Struggles
Red Bull’s Formula 1 woes have been a hot topic of discussion, with Max Verstappen dismissing claims that the team’s outdated wind tunnel is solely to blame for their car’s handling issues. Despite managing a surprise victory in Japan, the team faced a harsh reality at the Bahrain Grand Prix, where Verstappen finished a disappointing sixth due to the RB21’s weaknesses on the challenging Sakhir circuit.
Team principal Christian Horner admitted that Red Bull is still grappling with technical difficulties that hindered their performance against McLaren last season. While a new wind tunnel is in the works, it won’t be operational until 2027, leaving the team to contend with their current limitations.
Verstappen acknowledged the impact of the wind tunnel on their performance but emphasized that the team had achieved success in recent years despite these challenges. He pointed out that the team’s issues go beyond infrastructure and expressed confidence in their ability to navigate the obstacles they face.
Looking ahead, Verstappen remained optimistic about the future, highlighting that each season brings new opportunities and challenges. He refused to dwell on the past and instead focused on the team’s potential to excel in the upcoming seasons, dismissing any pessimism about their 2026 prospects.
As Red Bull continues to work on improving their performance, all eyes will be on how they address their current struggles and whether they can reclaim their position as frontrunners in the fiercely competitive world of Formula 1.
