Mercedes has faced a challenging start to the 2024 F1 season. The team has encountered numerous difficulties and disappointments in the current Formula 1 season. The Brackley-based team suffered a major blow when they lost their seven-time world champion driver to Ferrari during the offseason. As a result, they are now struggling to achieve satisfactory results in Grand Prix races.

Since the departure of the British driver, the Mercedes Team Principal has expressed a desire to attract a Red Bull driver. There are rumors circulating about a possible $150 million offer during the ongoing Miami Grand Prix weekend.

Recently, the Red Bull team principal gave an interview addressing these rumors and shared his thoughts on Toto Wolff’s obsession with the Dutch driver. Mintzlaff commented on how Wolff should focus more on solving his own team’s issues before trying to recruit Verstappen as a driver.

However, Mintzlaff believes that Toto Wolff should prioritize resolving the challenges within his own team. He emphasized that Wolff already has enough problems to deal with and that it is also a matter of respect not to constantly discuss personnel from other teams.

The Austrian hinted that the Mercedes boss should focus on resolving issues with his team and car. He concluded by stating that it is not appropriate for him or anyone else to continuously talk about drivers or teams from other organizations.

The 2024 F1 season has been marked by various setbacks and internal problems for the Red Bull team. There have been reports of a power struggle within the team following allegations of misconduct towards a female staff member.

These internal issues have caused significant turbulence within the team and may be a contributing factor to the aerodynamics specialist’s departure. Speculations about the possibility of Max Verstappen leaving the team have also arisen due to these problems. However, Red Bull boss Oliver Mintzlaff recently revealed that Verstappen intends to fulfill his contractual obligations with the team.

Mintzlaff stated that Max Verstappen remains committed to his long-term contract with Red Bull and has not expressed any desire to leave. He expressed confidence that things will calm down and return to normal soon, which aligns with Verstappen’s wishes and the team’s goals.

The Austrian added that the three-time world champion has not indicated any intention of leaving Red Bull, and he remains optimistic about the future. Only time will tell what will happen and whether Verstappen will stay with Red Bull until the end of the 2028 season.
