Red Bull Chief Takes a Stand Against Max Verstappen F1 Exit Speculations

In a bold statement, Red Bull Managing Director Oliver Mintzlaff reaffirmed the team’s unwavering support for Max Verstappen, emphasizing that the Dutch driver “owes a lot” to Red Bull amidst swirling rumors about his future in Formula 1.

Despite being under contract with Red Bull until 2028, speculations have arisen due to the team’s inconsistent performance this season, sparking concerns about a potential exit clause being activated. While there have been talks linking Verstappen to Mercedes, team principal Toto Wolff has indicated a commitment to the current lineup. Aston Martin has also emerged as a possible destination, with reports suggesting a staggering £226 million bid to lure the reigning F1 champion.

However, Mintzlaff remains confident in Verstappen’s allegiance to Red Bull, dismissing concerns about a potential departure as early as 2026. “We are all dissatisfied with the current situation,” Mintzlaff stated. “However, I am convinced that he will continue down the long road he has taken with Red Bull so far. Max will also be driving with us in 2026.”

Having spent his entire F1 career with Red Bull, claiming four consecutive titles and 64 victories, Verstappen’s strong ties to the team have been highlighted by Mintzlaff. The Managing Director emphasized the mutual benefits of their partnership, with Verstappen expressing his desire to start and end his career with Red Bull. Mintzlaff underscored, “The truth is also that he owes a lot to Red Bull. Of course, we are in a difficult phase at the moment, but I don’t feel that Max is doubting us.”

Addressing the need for collaboration with McLaren to support Verstappen’s title defense, Mintzlaff emphasized the importance of unity within the team. “As long as he understands that we want to build the best car in the world, he will pull together with us,” he asserted. “A long-term partnership also includes staying together in difficult times.”

With Mintzlaff’s resolute stance and unwavering support for Verstappen, Red Bull remains steadfast in their commitment to the talented driver despite the speculations surrounding his future in F1.
