Red Bull Confia em Alcançar Metas de Desenvolvimento de Motor F1 para Regras de 2026

In the realm of rumors and concerns surrounding the development of the Red Bull engine, team boss Christian Horner confidently addressed these apprehensions. Looking at the revised Formula 1 power unit regulations, which will come into effect in 2026 and eliminate the MGU-H component and prioritize electrical energy through the MGU-K along with sustainable fuels, Red Bull Racing is advancing in the development of its engine. Leading this endeavor for both Red Bull and its sister team is the Red Bull engine facility in Milton Keynes, in collaboration with Ford.

In an interview with Motorsport.com, Horner stated: “We are hitting the targets we set for ourselves.” Recognizing the challenges of assessing their progress compared to their competitors, he emphasized the immense efforts taking place behind the scenes. Horner explained: “The effort behind the scenes is monumental because we are racing against time to reach the beginning of 2026.” He described their development trajectory as ambitious due to their status as a new power unit manufacturer. However, Horner praised his team’s response to these challenges and highlighted the fully operational testing, development, and manufacturing facilities at their disposal.

Despite the limited deadline of only two remaining years, Horner maintains an optimistic outlook. He stated: “We are on a steep learning curve, but we are where we expected to be at this point.” Speculations about possible issues in the engine development have raised concerns about the future of the partnership between three-time world champion Max Verstappen and the team. However, Verstappen dismissed these speculations as premature, joking: “I might be worried if I am still alive tomorrow, right? So, I don’t worry too much about it.” He also reassured fans about his close communication with Horner and his active involvement in the team’s efforts. Verstappen added: “Everyone is working tirelessly, so there is no need to panic. It’s not 2026 yet.”

Recognizing the magnitude of the challenge, Verstappen admitted that overcoming established manufacturers would not be a simple task. However, he maintained his enthusiasm for the work in progress and the collective talent within the team. Verstappen stated: “We understand it is a huge task and we do not underestimate it. With several well-established engine manufacturers, we do not believe it will be easy to surpass them.” Nevertheless, he expressed confidence in the team’s capabilities, concluding optimistically: “We have a team of highly skilled individuals working on the project and we are incredibly excited about it. Only time will reveal the outcome.”
