McLaren granted a request from former United States President, Donald Trump, to visit their garage at the Miami Grand Prix as a sign of respect for the office he once held. Despite being involved in a trial, Trump attended the race with enhanced security. During his visit, he joined McLaren Racing CEO, Zak Brown, FIA President, Mohammed Ben Sulayem, F1 CEO, Stefano Domenicali, and Liberty Media CEO, Greg Maffei, in the McLaren garage. The team emphasized that McLaren is a non-political organization, but accepted the visit to showcase their engineering excellence in motorsport and recognize the importance of the U.S. presidency. Despite plans for a fundraising event for Trump’s campaign at the Miami GP, the event was canceled by the race organizers. The fundraising was set to take place in the main hospitality area of the F1, the Paddock Club, with tickets priced at $250,000 each.
