In a groundbreaking reveal, Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis has set the motorsport world on fire with his bold declaration that Dodge is eyeing a return to NASCAR Cup racing by 2027. Kuniskis, a former CEO for Dodge under Stellantis, expressed his aspirations during a conversation with Kevin Harvick on the ‘Happy Hour’ podcast, indicating that Ram’s comeback to the Truck Series in 2026 could pave the way for Dodge’s resurgence in the prestigious Cup series.

The ambitious CEO acknowledged the challenges ahead, stating, “Coming into Truck is a lot easier than coming into Cup.” Despite skepticism from naysayers, Kuniskis remains steadfast in his goal, aiming for a swift progression from Truck to Cup racing. With a hint of nostalgia, Kuniskis hinted at leveraging the legacy of Dodge to expedite the process, even teasing a possible appearance at Daytona as early as 2027.

Reflecting on past missed opportunities, Kuniskis lamented the prolonged absence of Dodge from the NASCAR scene, emphasizing the brand’s eagerness to reclaim its former glory. NASCAR executive vice president John Probst’s insights underscore the meticulous planning required for a successful Cup entry, suggesting an arduous yet calculated path ahead for Dodge.

Dodge bid farewell to the Cup Series in 2012 as reigning champions, marking a significant void in the manufacturer lineup alongside Chevrolet, Ford, and Toyota. Amidst the anticipation surrounding Dodge’s return, details regarding partnerships and drivers for the 2026 season remain undisclosed, adding an element of intrigue to Ram’s impending comeback.

As the motorsport community braces for a potential revival of the iconic Dodge brand on the NASCAR circuit, Kuniskis’ bold vision signals a new era of competition and excitement on the horizon. Stay tuned as Dodge gears up to conquer the NASCAR Cup series once again, with 2027 shaping up to be a pivotal year for racing enthusiasts worldwide.
