The start of the 2024 season for Mercedes was as expected, considering their difficulties in the ground effect era. However, there was a positive development as they secured pole position, with Verstappen almost reaching the podium. However, Russell’s multiple mistakes inadvertently cost him the victory. In light of this, analysts believed that Brackley would have better chances with Verstappen behind the wheel.

Verstappen’s speed has been inconsistent due to Red Bull’s struggle for speed. However, the Dutchman managed to secure a victory by driving exceptionally well on the circuit, aided by Red Bull’s strategic decisions. However, it was noted that if Verstappen were driving the Mercedes chassis, the team could have won the race. Furthermore, experts stated that the 26-year-old made a significant difference in terms of performance.

In addition, the 48-year-old commentator suggested that Mercedes’ prolonged period without victories could only be resolved by hiring a world champion driver. Verstappen’s conservative attitude, pleasant behavior, and sportsmanship would make him a comfortable option for Mercedes. Therefore, Toto Wolff and the German manufacturer would do everything to support Verstappen in achieving excellent results for the team.

Max Verstappen gained notoriety for his unique and aggressive driving style, which sets him apart from other drivers on the grid. Many other drivers have praised Verstappen for his exceptional skills in the pinnacle of motorsport. Leclerc described Verstappen’s style as aggressive, as he effectively utilizes the available space for overtaking. Although Leclerc acknowledged his own speed, he struggled to match Verstappen’s performance due to his intuition. This difference in approach distinguishes the two highly skilled drivers in Formula 1.

Despite the team’s difficulties, Max Verstappen managed to maintain a significant advantage over his rivals. As a result, he is likely to maintain his advantage and contend for the world title. Red Bull also minimized strategic errors for the 26-year-old driver, ensuring a smooth and successful performance.
