Racing Bulls Ramps Up Ambitions with Major Hire of F1 Technical Titan Dan Fallows!
In a striking move poised to shake up the Formula 1 landscape, Racing Bulls has officially appointed the esteemed Dan Fallows as its new technical director. With an illustrious background that includes pivotal roles at Red Bull and Aston Martin, Fallows is set to take the reins of the team’s technical direction, overseeing critical areas such as design, aerodynamics, and performance.
In a confident announcement, the Faenza-based Racing Bulls declared that Fallows will be reporting directly to chief technical officer Tim Goss, marking a significant leap in the team’s quest for competitive excellence. “I’m very pleased to be joining VCARB at an exciting time for the team,” said the British engineer, exuding enthusiasm about the clear vision and robust technical ambition that Racing Bulls has in store. “I’m looking forward to working closely with Tim and the wider engineering group to help drive performance and continue building the team for the future.”
Team principal Alan Permane chimed in, praising Fallows’ vast experience and technical savvy. “Dan has a wealth of experience, and his technical understanding and leadership will be a real asset to the team as we continue to develop and push forward competitively. We’re delighted to welcome him to VCARB.”
Fallows is no stranger to high-pressure environments; he was a key figure at Red Bull from 2006 to 2021, progressively climbing the ranks in the aerodynamics department from team leader to chief engineer. Prior to his tenure at Red Bull, he honed his skills as a senior aerodynamicist during the tumultuous Ford-owned Jaguar era from 2001 to 2004. His expertise is well-documented, having played a crucial role in shaping winning cars that have dominated the tracks.
The engineer’s recent history was marked by a controversial exit from Aston Martin, where he was initially lured in 2022 amid a contractual dispute with Red Bull. However, his tenure at Lawrence Stroll’s team was cut short in late 2024, less than three years into his ambitious role as technical director. Performance director Tom McCullough stated, “The performance of the team this year hasn’t been at the level that we’ve all been wanting it to be at.” Despite Fallows’ significant contributions in developing the ’22 and ’23 cars, the team struggled to deliver results on the track, ultimately leading to a shake-up in leadership.
In a bid to reclaim his momentum, Fallows ventured into entrepreneurship by founding Hiperformant, a company launched in June 2025 that promises to leverage extensive F1 expertise for high-performance engineering and business development projects.
As Racing Bulls gears up for a new chapter under the guidance of Fallows, the motorsport world will be watching closely. Will Fallows’ wealth of experience translate into immediate success on the racetracks? One thing is for certain: the stakes have never been higher, and the roar of Racing Bulls is set to echo louder than ever in the competitive arena of Formula 1!
