Racing Bulls Roar into F1: A Solid Season Amidst Driver Changes

In a dramatic twist of fate, the newly minted Racing Bulls team, formerly known as Alpha Tauri and Toro Rosso, has emerged from the shadows of its predecessors to deliver a surprisingly robust performance in the 2025 Formula 1 season. This marks a pivotal year for the Faenza-based outfit, which has long served as a vital stepping stone for Red Bull’s young driver program. With their eyes set on nurturing future champions, Racing Bulls has proven that they can hold their own on the world stage while fostering emerging talent.

Finishing the season in an impressive sixth place, the Racing Bulls accumulated 92 points, outshining competitors like Aston Martin and Haas. The last time the team achieved such a notable result was back in 2021, where they secured 142 points in the same sixth position. However, this season’s triumph goes beyond mere points; it has provided a nurturing environment for young drivers to flourish. One standout talent is Isack Hadjar, who has emerged not only as a promising rookie but also as the embodiment of the team’s potential.

Hadjar’s journey has been nothing short of spectacular. He wrapped up the season ranked 12th in the world standings, amassing 51 points. The French rookie quickly adapted to the VCARB 02, demonstrating his exceptional driving skills and securing a jaw-dropping third-place finish at the Dutch Grand Prix. This podium, achieved under challenging mixed conditions, solidified Hadjar’s reputation as a rising star in the sport. His performances in Monaco and Las Vegas, where he clinched commendable sixth places, further highlighted his prowess on technical circuits. Despite a shaky start in Melbourne, Hadjar rebounded impressively, securing his place on the Red Bull team for the 2026 season—a clear testament to his undeniable talent.

On the other hand, Liam Lawson’s journey was a rollercoaster ride of highs and lows. Ending the season in 14th place with 38 points, Lawson’s year seemed destined for glory but quickly turned into a fight for survival. After being demoted from Red Bull to Racing Bulls following just two races, the New Zealand driver faced the daunting task of clawing back to form. Yet, he managed to shine at pivotal moments, with a standout fifth place in Azerbaijan marking his best result of the season. While it may not have been a stellar year for Lawson, he has successfully retained his place in the F1 arena and with Racing Bulls, offering him a fresh start and the chance at redemption in the coming season.

The VCARB 02 car has proven to be a formidable contender, particularly on low-speed circuits, showcasing advantages inherited from its parent team. While the car excelled on urban tracks, it did struggle with aerodynamic limitations at high-speed corners and excessive drag on straights. Nonetheless, the team’s consistent point-scoring performances have allowed them to carve out a distinct identity in a fiercely competitive midfield.

As the 2025 season comes to a close, Racing Bulls has emerged not only as a team to watch but as a beacon of hope for young drivers looking to make their mark in Formula 1. With a solid foundation laid this year, the future looks bright for the Racing Bulls—and their fans are eager to see what comes next. The roar of the bulls is just beginning, and the racing world better be ready!
