Struggling Liam Lawson Makes Triumphant Return to Racing Bulls, CEO Praises Resurgence

In a shocking turn of events, Liam Lawson has emerged as a force to be reckoned with once again as he makes his comeback to Racing Bulls. The CEO, Peter Bayer, expressed his delight in witnessing Lawson’s revitalized spirit, contrasting it with the Kiwi driver’s earlier despondency after being ousted from Red Bull’s Formula 1 team.

Despite a rocky start with no points scored yet, Lawson’s determination and flashes of speed on the track are painting a picture of redemption for the talented racer. Bayer acknowledged the initial challenges Lawson faced, noting a shift in his demeanor but ultimately witnessing the resurgence of “the old Liam.”

“Confidence? No. But honestly, I think it took a moment for him to digest,” Bayer revealed. “He was a bit puzzled with everything that happened very quickly. But also at the same time, he knew the people, he knew all the tools, the set up, and I really felt that very quickly he was returning to be the old Liam.”

The return of Lawson to the Racing Bulls team has injected a sense of excitement and optimism, with Bayer commending his pace during the Bahrain weekend, despite a setback with a DRS fault during qualifying. The CEO also highlighted the team’s progress in 2025, singling out rookie Isack Hadjar’s promising performance while acknowledging strategic risks that have hindered their pursuit of points in the opening races.

“Laurent [Mekies] and the team managed to unlock some pace in the car which we have seen in Melbourne and continuing from there,” Bayer stated. “We had points in our hands and took perhaps a bit too much risk on the strategy side.”

As Racing Bulls navigates the challenges of the season, the return of Lawson and the emergence of young talent like Hadjar promise an exciting journey ahead for the team. Stay tuned as the racing campaign unfolds, and the drivers battle it out on the track for glory and redemption.
