Produção do elétrico de luxo Thunderball pode arrancar ainda este ano

The German sports car manufacturer, Wiesmann, revealed its first 100% electric model in 2022, the Thunderball, making it clear right away that the first year of production for the new model was already sold out.

Since then, the new model, which was originally scheduled to go into production in 2024, has remained silent, despite the company recently announcing that the model is still in planning.

The fully electric roadster with an 800-volt architecture is equipped with two motors, one at the front and another at the rear axle, delivering a combined power of up to 680 hp to the rear wheels and generating a maximum torque of 1100 Nm. These figures allow Wiesmann to announce an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds.

Equipped with a 92 kWh battery, which should allow for a range of up to 500 km between charges, the Thunderball can be charged with alternating current (AC) through the onboard charger at up to 22 kW. At public fast charging points, the Wiesmann electric model allows for charging at up to 300 kW with direct current (DC).

The production of the Thunderball was originally scheduled to start last year at the German brand’s factory in Dülmen, with the first deliveries expected in 2025; however, Wiesmann’s strategy director, Jaspreet Ahuja, recently told the British magazine “Autocar” that “challenges with the supply chain have caused changes in the plans of small manufacturers”. Furthermore, Jaspreet Ahuja made it clear that the German brand “remains committed to the production of the Thunderball and therefore I hope to bring updates by the end of the year”.

Remember that Wiesmann will produce only 1000 units of the Thunderball, with prices starting at €300,000.
