In a thrilling display of speed and skill, Austin Prock and Dallas Glenn emerged victorious at the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series event held at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Defending Funny Car world champion, Austin Prock, roared back to championship form with a stellar performance, clinching his first win of the season in style. Piloting his 12,000-horsepower Cornwell Tools Chevrolet SS, Prock blazed down the track with a jaw-dropping run of 4.009 at 316.01, fending off tough competition from Paul Lee, Matt Hagan, and Dave Richards in a high-octane quad showdown.
After a rocky start to the season with early exits, Prock and his team made significant adjustments to the car, leading to a remarkable comeback in Las Vegas. Reflecting on his victory, Prock expressed his team’s relentless pursuit of excellence, stating, “We always expect to show up and win. We want to go set low E.T. every round, and we want to win every race.”
Meanwhile, in the Pro Stock category, Dallas Glenn showcased his mastery on the track, securing his second win of the season at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Glenn’s precision driving and lightning-fast reactions propelled him to victory against heavyweights Greg Anderson, Matt Hartford, and Matt Latino in a thrilling final quad showdown.
Glenn, a former NHRA Rookie of the Year, demonstrated nerves of steel during the competition, overcoming challenges and setbacks to emerge triumphant. “It’s a good day. The car is working great. I didn’t do too bad, but, you know, at the end, and you’ve only got to do good enough,” Glenn remarked after his impressive win.
With Tony Stewart also claiming victory in the Top Fuel final, the Las Vegas event was a testament to the fierce competition and adrenaline-pumping action of NHRA drag racing.
