After revealing the name of the road variant of the 963 LMDh, the new 963 RSP, Porsche has now announced that it will present the model at the next edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which will take place from June 11 to 15.
In a “teaser” revealed by the Stuttgart brand, a team of technicians can be seen working on the 963 RSP, which Porsche states in the video description is “a unique vehicle, created with high precision, purpose, and details at every point of contact.” The video also shows a 963 RSP emblem on what appears to be the rear light bar of the Le Mans prototype.
However, it remains to be seen whether Porsche will use a high-voltage hybrid system for this new road model, similar to that of the truly complex competition model.
For now, it is certain that this new 963 RSP will be the first road model produced from a Le Mans sports car since the 911 GT1, which was produced between 1996 and 1998 and was one of the favorite models among Porsche fans.
