Porsche completes a comprehensive scan at the FIA World Endurance Championship pre-season test event, The Prologue, with Fred Makowiecki setting the fastest times in both sessions on the second and final day. Porsche also led the rankings in both sessions yesterday.
French driver Makowiecki achieved the fastest time in the fourth and final session, recording a time of 1:40.404 while driving the Porsche #5 963. In the previous third session of the day, he clocked a time of 1:41.223.
Stoffel Vandoorne in the Peugeot #94 9X8 came in second, just a few hundredths of a second behind Makowiecki. The third fastest time was achieved by Makowiecki’s teammate and fellow Frenchman Kevin Estre, driving the Porsche #6. The Peugeot #93 finished in fourth place, with Sebastien Bourdais’ Cadillac V-Series.R #2 in fifth place.
In the fourth session, the Cadillac improved its performance and finished in second place, with Alex Lynn at the wheel. Yiefi Ye in the AF Corse Ferrari #83 499P closely followed, with the two factory Ferraris, #51 and #50, occupying fourth and fifth place, respectively. Antonio Giovinazzi and Antonio Fuoco were the drivers of the two factory Ferraris.
D’Station Racing dominated the LMGT3 category, leading both sessions. Marco Sorensen set the fastest time in the third session, while Erwan Bastard was the fastest in the fourth session. The Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 #777 drivers were very close, with Sorensen recording a time of 1:54.791 and Bastard just slightly faster with a time of 1:54.778.
In the third session of the LMGT3 category, Davide Rigon in the AF Corse Ferrari #54 296 GT3 came in second, less than two tenths of a second behind Sorensen. Daniel Juncadella of TF Sport finished in third place, driving the TF Sport Corvette Z06 GT3.R #82, just 0.15 seconds behind Rigon.
Finally, in the fourth session, Francesco Castellaci, Rigon’s teammate, closely followed Bastard. Kelvin van der Linde in the ASP Lexus RC F GT3 #78 finished in third place.
