The police have determined that there is no evidence of any criminal conduct in relation to the allegation that Hamilton is being deliberately disadvantaged in the year 2024.

The Mercedes Formula 1 team has been informed by the police that there is no evidence of any criminal activity related to the claim that Lewis Hamilton is being intentionally harmed this season.

During the analysis faced by Mercedes in Barcelona, team principal Toto Wolff was questioned about an anonymous email suggesting that Hamilton was being put at a disadvantage.

The email, allegedly sent by someone within the Mercedes organization, pointed out the difficulties Hamilton faced in turning good performances in practice into actual results.

The email accused Mercedes and Wolff of employing unethical tactics that could pose a threat to Hamilton’s life as he prepares to join Ferrari in 2025.

In response to this incident at the Spanish Grand Prix, Wolff revealed that Mercedes involved the police in the matter, and it has now been confirmed that this action took place within 48 hours.

A spokesperson for the Northamptonshire Police informed PA that there is no evidence of any crime committed, but advised Mercedes to report any future developments.

“On June 12, the Northamptonshire Police received a report about an email that had been circulated within the Mercedes AMG F1 team,” the spokesperson stated.

“No crime was identified, but the team was given advice on how to handle future emails they may receive.”

Hamilton concluded his challenging start to the season in Barcelona, securing third place on the grid ahead of his teammate George Russell, and later achieved a podium finish.

Wolff expressed his satisfaction at seeing Hamilton end his recent string of poor results and reiterated his previous statements that it is unthinkable for Mercedes to compromise a driver’s performance.

“I have no respect for these conspiracy theorists because they lack any logical reasoning,” he told the press. “We want a car that can win races and championships, and anyone who doesn’t understand that should look for another sport to watch.”

“It’s great to see Lewis have a successful weekend, as it’s been a while since he faced setbacks and strategies against him.

“But today, things went in his favor, so I’m pleased that he secured a place on the podium after a long time.”
