The incident, which is already being investigated by the authorities, has prompted Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, to clarify via social media that the incident “is in no way related to the vehicle”, and that authorities have already “confirmed that the explosion was caused by fireworks and a bomb that were being transported inside the vehicle”.
We have now confirmed that the explosion was caused by very large fireworks and/or a bomb carried in the bed of the rented Cybertruck and is unrelated to the vehicle itself.
