Polestar is recalling over 27 units of the Polestar 2 in the USA due to issues with the rear camera.
The news was reported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), which announced that the rear camera may not function when the vehicle is reversing, thereby reducing the driver’s visibility and increasing the risk of an accident.
The recall is expected to cover 27,816 Polestar 2 models manufactured between 2021 and 2025, which, according to the NHTSA, may be affected by a synchronization error between the vehicle’s parking assist camera and the central screen’s “infotainment” unit, as well as a synchronization error in the video reception hardware of the unit.
Polestar has already announced that its dealerships in the USA will update the vehicle’s software free of charge.
