Polestar, a Swedish brand of electric cars, has decided to launch a design contest, the Polestar Design Contest 2024, in collaboration with Hot Wheels, a brand by Mattel, known for its cars designed for children’s play but also collected by adults, in order to challenge designers to envision the future Polestar Hot Wheels.
Participants are encouraged to unleash their imagination and push the limits of performance and vehicle design in their final presentation. The only requirement is that Mattel is able to translate the final design into a 1:64 scale Hot Wheels model, and that images showing the vehicle’s interior design and surrounding areas are included as part of the presentation.
“Dreams have the power to inspire us and take us beyond what we think is possible. This is an opportunity for all participating designers to unleash their creativity and let their imagination run wild with Polestar,” said Maximilian Missoni, Head of Design at Polestar.
