Polestar has announced that customers of the Polestar 3 can now enjoy the convenience and additional benefits of having keys for their 100% electric vehicle in Apple Wallet.
Thanks to an over-the-air (OTA) software update, Polestar 3 owners can now automatically unlock or lock the vehicle and start it, all while keeping their iPhone in their pocket or simply using their Apple Watch.
Additionally, it is possible to share the car keys in Apple Wallet via Messages, Mail, AirDrop, WhatsApp, and other platforms, with up to 5 additional users.
Vehicle owners will also be able to decide whether these users will have access to their vehicle or the ability to drive it. The Power Reserve feature allows users to use the car keys in Apple Wallet to access and start the vehicle, even if the iPhone needs to be charged.
“The convenience of using your iPhone or Apple Watch to unlock and start your vehicle, and easily share access with others, should not be underestimated. This update is part of an intensive program of over-the-air software updates for our vehicles, which we initiated since delivering our first Polestar 2 to customers in 2020”, said Michael Lohscheller, CEO of Polestar.
