Just a few days after Polestar announced that it had called back over 27,000 units of the Polestar 2 in the U.S. due to issues with the rearview camera, it has now announced that the third model in the lineup is also facing similar problems.
According to the Swedish brand, owned by the Chinese company Geely, 3,665 units of the Polestar 3, all manufactured between March 7, 2024, and April 23, 2025, have a problem with the rearview camera, which the brand did not specify but mentioned can be resolved with a software update, either performed by a brand dealership or over-the-air, free of charge.
Polestar also announced that notification letters to owners are expected to be mailed out on July 1, 2025.
The premium electric vehicle manufacturer was alerted to the issue on February 10, 2025, after the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) defect investigation office raised concerns about failures in the rearview camera.
