Polestar is committed to comprehensively updating the Polestar 3 throughout its lifecycle, and since the delivery of the first Polestar 3 to customers in June 2024, the Swedish brand has already implemented nine software updates on the 100% electric SUV. Across its three-model range, more than 30 OTA software updates have been delivered since the launch of the Polestar 2 in 2020.

The latest software update for the Polestar 3 adds features such as walk-away locking and digital key functionality for selected devices, allowing smartphone users to enjoy the convenience of unlocking, locking, or starting the vehicle while keeping their phone in their pocket. The Polestar digital key functionality can be shared across platforms.
“With our over-the-air updates, we can continue to improve our vehicles over time, and with the latest updates for the Polestar 3 and Polestar 4, we have done just that. Our customers requested the digital key feature, so we responded to that request and will continue to add value for our customers throughout the lifespan of their vehicles,” said Michael Lohscheller, CEO of Polestar.
The updates from Polestar for its models are not limited to new applications, features, or increased software stability, but can also include changes to driving attributes and active safety systems. Thanks to its centralized computing system, the Polestar 3 offers even more possibilities for comprehensive updates.
For the 2026 model, the Polestar 3 will be delivered with an upgrade from its current NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Xavier processor to the new and more powerful NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin processor.
This hardware upgrade, which will bring even more computing power, will also be offered to all existing Polestar 3 customers as a complementary upgrade, to be carried out at an authorized Polestar service point, with customers being contacted when the NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin processor becomes available for installation.
