Polestar has started production in the United States at the factory it shares with Volvo in Charleston, South Carolina, of the Long Range Single Motor variant of the Polestar 3 SUV.
With a certified WLTP range of up to 706 km, this model from the Swedish brand offers one of the largest ranges in its segment.
This entry-level version of the Polestar 3 uses the same 111 kWh battery pack as the Dual Motor version, offering the same peak charging capacity of 250 kW for a 30-minute charge from 10 to 80% in DC.
“With the start of production of our Polestar 3 Long Range Single Motor in the United States, we are now beginning to deliver this vehicle directly to our North American customers. This is a new entry point in our Polestar 3 electric SUV range that is now accessible to an even greater number of customers, while still offering the dynamic and luxury features of our Dual Motor versions.”, said Michael Lohscheller, CEO of Polestar.
In this variant of the Polestar 3, the motor with 295 hp and 490 Nm of torque drives exclusively the rear axle, allowing for an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds. Braking power is equally important, and for this reason, the Polestar 3 Long Range Single Motor uses the same Brembo braking system as the rest of the Polestar 3 lineup.
