Polestar has just announced the expansion of the Polestar 3 range with a Long range Single motor version, with rear-wheel drive.
This entry-level version in the Polestar 3 range, which will be built in China and the US, uses the same 111 kWh battery pack as the Dual motor models, offering the same peak charging capacity of 250 kW for a 30-minute charge from 10 to 80% in DC, and enabling a range of up to 650 km (WLTP) between charges.
The motor only powers the rear axle of the Polestar 3 and produces 295 hp of power and a maximum torque of 490 Nm. As a result, this new Polestar 3 Long range Single motor can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds.
This new variant of the Polestar 3 retains all the features found in the Long range Dual motor models, including a passive damper system that uses Hydraulic Rebound Stops (HRS) and Frequency Selective Damping (FSD). As a result, the Polestar 3 Long range Single motor embodies the dynamic character found in the Long range Dual motor.
The Swedish brand also revealed that this Polestar 3 with rear-wheel drive makes use of the same Brembo braking system as the rest of the range. In addition, the new model benefits from greater customization thanks to the unique structure of options and packs, which means that customers can personalize their Polestar 3 by choosing from six exterior colors, five interior divisions, and four wheel options, including the new 21” alloy wheels available in the new Pro Pack.
The new Polestar 3 Long range Single motor is now available for order in the national market, starting at €83,400.
