The Polestar 3 has set the world record for the longest distance traveled by a 100% electric SUV on a single charge, recognized by the Guinness World Records, covering more than 935 km during a trip in the United Kingdom.
The new Long Range version of the Polestar SUV, with a 295 hp electric motor installed on the rear axle, powered by a 107 kWh battery, took 22 hours and 57 minutes to cover 935.44 km, in varying weather conditions, including rain, achieving an efficiency of 12.1 kWh/100 km.
Polestar revealed that the SUV achieved the announced range of 706 km in the WLTP cycle, with 20% of the battery capacity still available and traveled 12.8 km more after indicating 0% battery, with the Polestar 3 reaching a charger before stopping completely.
The Polestar 3 used in this successful attempt to set a range record is a production model, having undergone no modifications, and using the same standard Michelin Sport 4 EV tires. Furthermore, the record was achieved on public roads, secondary roads, and highways.
“We are very proud to announce that we have a world record holder in the Polestar family! This official Guinness world record for range is further proof that the Polestar 3 is setting new standards. We will continue to push the boundaries of technology and electric performance.”, said Michael Lohscheller, CEO of Polestar, in a statement.
